The Appeal We Feel Is Real by Mr-Glaceon The Appeal We Feel Is Real by Mr-Glaceon
Yes, I finally understand what it means to enjoy Minecraft! > : D I'll admit, I used Minetest for the screenshots, but you get the picture. XD That's definitely my house in the last panel, though, it's a work in progress, but I'm adding lots of stuff to it!

Screenshots courtesy of Minetest engine, and the pumpkin at the end is from another meme. =-P

Vote for it on Memebase if you like : [link] <--User Registration is not required to give a Like!

Also, this'll probably be the last meme idea rolling around in my noggin for a while, so I'll get back to drawing art requests and practice sketches now. ^^

I did the lava thing to a village. It looked much more beautiful after I did that.

Technically, kinda, sorta. XD Wait, sarcasm is used to convey insults in a clever way that others will likely miss. Sorry, wrong term on my part! XD

Wow, a tree house in the sky? XD Always wanted to do that IRL as a kid. XD I wouldn't be copying if I added a tree house to the front yard of my house in the sky, would it? =-P

Haha, I'm definitely going to tack on a massive tree house to my house later tonight. > : D And yeah, I'm playing Minetest on Ubunut Linux. XD (I don't have an XBOX yet, so I can't take advantage of buying the cheaper port of Minecraft on LIVE. XD) Since Minetest is an open-source clone of Minecraft, it's "free as in freedom", [link] and has ports for Windows, MAC, and Linux. ^^ For something just now at its 0.4 version, it's pretty impressive so far.

Sadly, no, since I don't have Minecraft yet. I've played it before on my cousin's laptop, (He was trying to get me to see how great the game was, and he succeeded at that. XD ) so I know what it's like at least, and I knew the differences between Minetest and Minecraft right off. XD Once I can afford it I'll definitely get it though, I'd like to hunt for obsidian and build with tons of other people. XD

Try Minetest then. XD [link] It's an open-source clone of Minecraft that's been in the works for two years, and works on either Windows or Linux. Though not yet comparable to Minecraft, Minetest is already pretty mature and has a lot of features, and with mods you can extend its functionality, like adding animals or explosives. It's actually what I used to take these screenshots for the meme. XD

So you can't figure out how to download and install it, or you're using the family machine and not allowed to?

The download link for version 0.4.4 is over here if that helps : [link] Just extract it and run the launcher in the BIN folder inside.

I see. ;__; Since it's the family machine you wouldn't get much time to play it on there anyway. Once you have your own machine, there's a whole world of open-source games out there waiting to be explored. You'd be surprised how far most of those game projects have gone over the years. XD

Well, minetest is an open-source clone of Minecraft, so it's "free as in freedom". [link] It has support for up to ten players in online mode, tons of mods, a 31,000 block limit for maps, and is written in C++ instead of Java for better performance, so the possibilities are endless, really. > : D Not as full-featured as Minecraft yet, but definitely a great game on its own with persistent worlds and everything.

The only problem I'm having is getting people to join my servers, since I've been trying to play it with my older cousin. "Failed to Emerge Player" errors are plaguing me so far, even under Hamachi. Dunno what's going wrong. ;__;

It should work if you have decent hardware. I've got integrated Intel graphics and it's running way smoother than Minecraft does on my older cousin's laptop with a similar chipset. XD

There are versions of it for Windows and Linux, both of which I've seen work. ^^ I'm running the Linux version, and so is my older cousin, and my little cousin is playing the Windows version on his laptop with Windows 7. Just make sure you don't use any special characters like dots or apostrophes for naming worlds, otherwise it won't create a new world. It only likes normal letters as far as I know. XD The chatbox is a little derpy too sometimes. XD
